What it is
In early 2026 Microsoft added an “AI Performance” report to Bing Webmaster Tools: for the first time there is official data telling you how often your content was cited in Copilot / Bing AI answers, which pages got cited, and what users asked that surfaced you (grounding queries).
Why it matters to you
The hardest part of GEO has always been that AI citations are invisible and unmeasurable. This report fills in one piece of official measurement you can cross-reference against Google Search Console impressions — the first time “are we in AI answers” comes with concrete numbers.
Should you act now
This is Bing’s data — it doesn’t cover the other mainstream AI engines — a single source, and still in public test. Seeing numbers isn’t the same as knowing what to change: the data is scattered across Bing, GSC and each engine, and stitching it together, reading it, and mapping it to which dimension to fix is the genuinely hard part — and the part worth handing to someone watching it.
